What is corrosion?
Why you should do something about it. Corrosion is generally defined as the reaction of a material with its environment, which causes an oxidation process that affects not only the appearance but also the functionality and thus the value of your goods and can lead to considerable consequential costs. Metallic corrosion requires a reaction partner in order to take place. In most cases, this is water in the form of a condensate. In order to protect products from corrosion, two methods are distinguished during manufacturing and packaging:
1. The VCI method (VCI = Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor) 2. The desiccant method
